Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Here is Snow White and her Seven Dwarfs.

I was recently contacted by someone who wanted to know if I had verification on who made her doll and dwarfs. I didn't at the time, but it never fails, after someone asks, they start popping up all over the place.

Here are the pictures of the doll, dwarfs and box that I found recently.

Anyone looking at this box, instantly recognizes it as a Deluxe Reading box. Thanks to all the ebay sellers that let me "borrow" their pictures.

This Walt Disney set was produced by DeLuxe Toy Creations (Later Deluxe Reading, Deluxe Topper, and Topper toys) probably in 1957 or 1958 as inside the cover of her orginal box it is written December 24,1958

It consists of a 22" Snow White doll dressed in her original dress,white socks, panties and blue suede shoes. her hair appears to be in it's original set and she still wears her original hairnet and ribbon. She also still has he gold tag pinned to her dress.

The seven dwarfs are also included.

They stand between 7-9 inches tall and each has his name marked on the right front side

This is a rare and hard to find complete set, for not only Deluxe doll collectors but for Disney collectors as well as it clearly states Walt Disney's Snow White, indicating that prodution was licensed by Walt Disney.

The dress shown on the doll above, is a reproduction dress done in blue. When I contacted a couple of persons with the dress shown with the reddish top, they confirmed that the thread was blue. Which to me means, that the fabric has probably faded from the original blue tint, to the pink. Deluxe did not have good fabric dying processes, and it seems to fade to other colors.
